Circa 1988

This was Anna Wintour's first ever U.S Vogue cover in 1988. Apparently the only reason the model's wearing denim is because she'd put on a bit of weight and couldn't fit into the Couture picked out for the shoot. Just goes to show, sometimes when things don't go to plan, it can end up leading to great, unexpected results.

Love her smile and the get-up which, 24 years on, now feels current all over again.

  8. I remember this cover. I was 9 years old. Tried on some "90s" stuff at Topshop...just a bit ridiculous if you did it the first time round...: ))
